JA BizTown Summer Camp

Junior Achievement's Exciting Summer Camp Opportunity for Middle TN Kids

The long wait for summer is over. Everyone needs a little fun in the sun, but how can you keep your kids engaged in learning this summer? Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee has an exciting camp opportunity to do just that - JA BizTown Summer Camp.

JA BizTown Summer Camp is open to all kids aged 10 to 13. At this week-long day camp kids learn about our economy, personal finances and how to market and run a business. Through a combination of interactive lessons and hands-on simulation in JA's lifelike mini-city, campers get to see what life is like in the real world. They apply and interview for jobs and will be hired by one of the 14 businesses that make up JA BizTown. They may be a CEO, Teller, Reporter or Sales Manager, but everyone will work to earn their paycheck. It's then up to them to manage their money by saving and shopping responsibly in JA BizTown's retail stores. By working together in their business, campers get the chance to practice skills like teamwork, cooperation and negotiation. By the end of the week, they will become strong leaders of their community and gain valuable skills to help them achieve success in the real world.

"This camp opens doors, expands horizons, and builds confidence through unique experiences," said one parent of her daughter's experience at JA BizTown Summer Camp. "What a great opportunity to have fun and learn valuable skills at the same time."

JA will be holding two camp sessions: June 25th - 29th and July 9th - 13th. Camp hours run from 9 am to 3:30 pm, with an extended day option available from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The sessions are limited to 70 campers to ensure a quality experience for each participant.

Don't miss out on this great summer opportunity. There are still spaces available, but they won't last long. Register your child today by visiting www.janash.com/summercamp. For more information about the camp, please contact Rachel Dyer, Director of JA BizTown, at (615) 627-1194 or racheld@janash.com.
