The BBB Seeks Nominations for the Torch Award
The Torch Award for Ethical Commerce honors Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky companies that demonstrate the highest standards of business practices to create trust. Award recipients generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers and their communities. The Torch Award was established in 1994 and embodies the BBB's mission of advancing marketplace trust.
Goal of Torch Awards Program
The Torch Award program is intended to promote self-regulation and documentation of Middle Tennessee businesses that are engaged in ongoing efforts to intentionally fulfill BBB's ethical commerce principles and practices. The Torch Awards are positioned as a best practice EDUCATION & RECOGNITION program that honors businesses that are striving without suggesting that any organization has, in fact, "arrived" and become "perfectly ethical."
The Judging Process
Entries are evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprised of volunteer business and community leaders, based on criteria established by the BBB Integrity Foundation Advisory Committee.
Eligibility and Award Categories
The Torch Award is open to all for-profit organizations physically located within BBB's 45 county service area. Companies entering the 2013 Torch Award competition will be judged in one of four categories based on the number of employees:
