People’s Church Youth Group is a group of kids of all ages who also happen to be servants of Christ. This year, the group has partnered with Young Women's Outreach Center and their program: "Save a Homeless Child". This is the beginning of our partnership. We hope over the next 12 months to dedicate our time and energy to this program providing support in shelter in securing adequate housing, food, clothing, and other supplies that are needed to these homeless children and their parents of Lenoir County. This is the mission of the Save a Homeless Child Program which is all through the Young Women's Outreach Center, a nonprofit organization within our community.
In our efforts to help homeless kids in our area, our youth group has decided to do a fundraiser to help homeless kids have a place to stay and food to eat during the Holidays. We will raise funds by sleeping in cardboard boxes and cars outside at our church. On Friday, November 1, 2013, we will begin with a nightly service of worship, music, and skits for all to come out and enjoy. At the end of the night, the kids who plan to stay will be given a cardboard box and tape. They will build their home for the night. All the kids will be supervised by adults all night.
Our goal is to raise as much money as possible per child and person. This cause is so important and can help change the lives of people in our community. As a church, we are commanded by God to reach out to the poor and weak.
Please take this opportunity to support People's Church Youth Group in their efforts to save the homeless children and their parents on or before Friday, November 1, 2013 for the Holidays’ Blessings. Please note, however, we will continue this drive throughout the year. Your donation is an important part of the work we do as young people in our community and your gift can be one that not only empowers us as we work for Christ, but it also can change lives right here in our own community. Your donation is Tax Deductible. Please make checks and money orders payable to: YWOC - Homeless Children. You can mail donations to: Save a Homeless Child, PO Box 5023, Kinston, NC 28503.
We hope that we can count on you to help support our cause.
